The Greatest Englishman tells the story of Captain Matthew Webb, the first-ever person to successfully swim the English Channel in 1875 equipped only with his moustache, doses of Brandy and a wire wool swimsuit.
Rosie is a film about the circles of life. Although it centres on loss - both metaphorically and through narrative, it's setting in natural surroundings aims to lift the viewer and give them hope, while reminding us that nature moves on.
Made for about £25,000 Love Me Till Monday is never going to be a masterpiece but it is sweet, funny and touching, if a little odd! The oddness comes from some rather poor improvising and the odd casting of Tim Plester (or maybe it is just the glasses he wears). The film is worth your attention for a really very good performance by Georgia Maguire - she carries the film. It is also worth your attention because it is British and tries to explore real emotions and vulnerabilities.
